Peter and Nicola had been all over the world, but had decided that their favorite place was France. They had many times argued about the place in the country that was most French, most embodied why they loved it here more than any other place in the world-the place that made them feel the farthest away from their lives back home. This place, this tiny village bisected by a narrow green river, smelling of lavender and unfamiliar blooms just emerging from buds, this was it, this was the place.
